The collection consists chiefly of the business and legal papers, 1836-1878, of William Stephen Shepherd, Fluvanna and Louisa counties, together with some of Lucy D. Shepherd. There are also two information sheets on "Lee High," home of the Kendall Lees, two 1857 deeds for Louisa County land, and an 1862 statement re: a late return to a Virginia militia regiment.
